A man who had his disability benefits stopped despite enduring two strokes, a heart-attack and a kidney transplant has died months after having them reinstated. Philip Williams, 56, had been plagued by illnesses in recent years including kidney failure, loss of hearing and ulcerative colitis. But he was stripped of his benefits in August after an assessment – despite the fact he needed 12 hours of dialysis treatment each week, report the Daily Post.

Mr Williams, of Caernarfon, was admitted to hospital last week with gall stones which he had removed, but the surgery took its toll on his body.He died last week from pancreatitis at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor.
